Fresh off supporting P!NK and Tones & I at Optus Stadium in 2024, and their three wins at the 2023 WA Music Awards, Joan & The Giants are captivating crowds and critics across the country with their heart on sleeve, anthemic pop rock music. Helmed by Nyul Nyul man Aaron Birch and powerhouse queer vocalist Grace-Newton Wordsworth, this band will leave you feeling just as giant as they are.
2023 was a huge year for these giants, they showcased at BIGSOUND, supported Eskimo Joe around WA, and landed seven nominations at the WA Music Awards where they secured awards for Best Alternative/Indie Act, Best Single, and Best Music Video. They also took out three WA Song of the Year Awards for Best Rock Song, Outstanding Indigenous and Runner Up Song of the Year. In 2024 the band have already released two singles, ‘Good Time’; which was added to Spotify's New Music Friday, Front Left, Alt Here, Fresh Finds, Local Noise and Indie Arrivals and ‘Born in the Wrong Time’; which landed a first play and interview on Triple J, Triple J Unearthed feature artist, multiple Spotify editorials and was number one on the Metro AMRAP community radio charts for multiple weeks. The powerhouse four piece have shared stages with some big acts including Weyes Blood, Teen Jesus and Jean Teasers, Sly Withers, Pacific Avenue, Coterie, South Summit, Weyes Blood, Caravana Sun and many more.
