The Age once hailed Justin Burford as possessing a voice akin to “gravel and honey”. Over the course of a more than two decades, that voice, along with his flair for acting and artistry, has established Justin as one of Australia’s most well-rounded, charismatic and
versatile performers. While perhaps best known as the dynamic frontman and creative force behind his ARIA award-winning band, End Of Fashion (2006 ARIA for ‘Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Best Video’), Justin’s illustrious career is a broad tapestry of musical prowess, theatrical brilliance and artistic ingenuity.
As a musical theatre debutante, Justin scored a coveted Helpmann Award Nomination for his leading role in the Australian production of Broadway’s Rock Of Ages (2011).Justin has since produced and performed along side nationally esteemed companies; including West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Haye’s Theatre in Sydney, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and many others. Justin’s impressive acting chops, on stage and screen, have earned him glowing reviews nationally and abroad for his many immersive character portrayals, including rock icons Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison.
Neverstraying too far from his own original music, Justin is currently working hard on new End Of Fashion material, with an album slated for release in 2025, coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the band’s platinum selling debut. In 2019, Justin was honoured by the Museum of Western Australia when invited to include his guitar in a fixed exhibit celebrating the achievements of a handful of prominent West Australian artists. Never content to sit still, Justin is a self described “forward facing artist “, constantly seeking challenges and opportunities that expand his already impressive diversity and range. Two decades in, Justin feels the best is still yet to come.
